Heavy Equipment Field Technician | $30–$50/hr | BlueWorx

Location: North Texas & Oklahoma (Regional Field Service)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Up to 40% required
Schedule: Must be flexible for overtime and field assignments
Pay: $30–$50/hr (DOE)


BlueWorx is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Technician to provide repair, maintenance, and diagnostic support on heavy equipment across North Texas and Oklahoma. This role supports customers by performing timely, high-quality repairs while maintaining safety and service standards.

This position is ideal for technicians with strong heavy equipment, diesel, or industrial maintenance experience who enjoy working in field service environments.


Position Overview

The Heavy Equipment Field Technician performs diagnostics, component removal and installation, and repair verification while supporting field service operations. This role includes working with engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components across a variety of heavy equipment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot heavy equipment and engine issues
  • Remove and install machine components and assemblies
  • Perform repairs and adjustments with minimal supervision
  • Verify correct operation after repairs are completed
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT handling procedures
  • Complete work orders, parts documentation, and service records accurately
  • Provide repair recommendations to support quoting needs
  • Apply failure analysis procedures to determine root causes
  • Support and mentor team members as needed
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and service requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of heavy equipment, diesel, or mechanical repair experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Diesel engines
    • Electrical and electronic systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
    • Mechanical systems
  • Experience using diagnostic software and service tools preferred
  • Ability to read safety rules, service manuals, and maintenance instructions
  • Familiarity with database and order processing systems
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must successfully complete required technical assessments
  • Must own or obtain required technician tools
  • Clean driving record required

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to outdoor jobsite conditions
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment
  • Work performed in varying temperatures and weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to electrical hazards and vibration
  • Moderate noise environment

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the shift
  • Working at heights when required
  • Lifting and positioning equipment components as needed
