Job Description
The Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing manufactured components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires the use of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment to ensure products are built safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Assemble, fit, and align components and structures according to specifications.
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials for assembly and fabrication.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and report defects, equipment issues, or material shortages.
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and modifications as required.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to meet production schedules.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, fitting, or assembly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing or production facility environment.
- May require overtime, weekends, or shift work based on production needs.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
