BlueWorx is seeking a dependable Blast Associate to join a growing manufacturing team in Oklahoma City. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are looking to build a career in industrial manufacturing, production support, and surface preparation operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting production and quality standards.


Position Overview

The Blast Associate assists with the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing and weld departments by operating sandblasting equipment, preparing parts and components, and supporting production processes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring parts are properly cleaned, prepared, and ready for assembly or fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare parts and components
  • Sandblast and clean various materials while standing for extended periods
  • Read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Identify and verify parts and materials against work orders
  • Verify accuracy of production paperwork and documentation
  • Ensure job orders remain properly matched with components throughout production
  • Periodically inspect tools and equipment for deficiencies or maintenance needs
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the blasting and preparation process
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Assist other departments as needed to support production goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous manufacturing, production, or sandblasting experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials
  • Ability to lift 51 lbs or more with assistance from a lifting partner when required
  • Ability to safely operate sandblasting equipment and related tools
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment
