BlueWorx is seeking a detail-oriented Hydro Associate Tier 1 to join a growing manufacturing team in Oklahoma City. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in quality assurance, hydrostatic testing, and industrial manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to accurately inspect and test valve bodies while supporting production and quality standards.


Position Overview

The Hydro Associate Tier 1 is responsible for performing hydrostatic testing on valve bodies to verify product integrity and identify leaks or defects. This position supports quality assurance efforts by inspecting components, operating testing equipment, maintaining documentation, and assisting production operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrostatic testing on 1" and 2" threaded valve bodies using Barbee testing equipment
  • Verify work order information and ensure testing requirements are met
  • Visually inspect valve bodies, machinery, and tools for quality and operational readiness
  • Monitor valves during testing to identify leaks, defects, safety concerns, or performance issues
  • Mark valve bodies using metal stamps according to engineering print requirements
  • Maintain accurate production records, logs, and required documentation
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Follow all company safety policies and hydro testing procedures
  • Operate sandblasting equipment to support weld department operations as needed
  • Assist other departments and production teams as required
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Ability to read and reference engineering prints and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required

  • Ability to verify component accuracy using visual references and documentation
  • Ability to determine required testing pressures from engineering prints
  • Ability to identify leaks, defects, and quality concerns during testing

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and handling components
  • Ability to lift 51 lbs or more with assistance from a lifting partner when required
  • Ability to safely operate hydrostatic testing and sandblasting equipment
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment
  • Flexibility to work more or fewer than 40 hours per week based on production needs
