Teflon Coater – 2nd Shift
We are seeking an experienced Teflon Coater to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will prepare parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and surface prepping components before applying specialized Teflon and fluoropolymer coatings to meet engineering and customer specifications.
This position requires experience with multi-step coating processes, curing ovens, quality inspections, and safe handling of industrial coating materials in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
- Shift Premium: 11.5% additional pay on all hours worked
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare parts for coating through cleaning, masking, grit blasting, and surface preparation.
- Apply Teflon (PTFE) and fluoropolymer coatings according to specifications.
- Operate curing ovens and monitor bake-out cycles to ensure proper coating performance.
- Inspect coated parts to verify quality standards and coating thickness requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions.
- Maintain coating equipment and work area in accordance with safety and quality standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures while handling coating materials and equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial coating experience, preferably with Teflon (PTFE), fluoropolymer, or other high-performance coatings.
- Experience with spray-applied industrial coatings.
- Knowledge of surface preparation methods, including grit blasting.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Must be able to pass an annual pulmonary function test.
- Must be able to wear a respirator while performing coating, blasting, and surface preparation tasks.
- Position is designated as Safety-Sensitive.
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks for up to 95% of the workday.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Mechanical lifting devices should be used whenever possible.
