Professional Summary of Plate Laser Operator
We are seeking an experienced Plate Laser Operator to set up and operate laser cutting equipment to produce precision-cut metal plate parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint-reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities of Plate Laser Operator
- Set up, program, and operate plate laser cutting machinery to cut metal parts according to job specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and cut lists to determine part specifications.
- Load material and input cutting programs/parameters using a computer or machine control panel.
- Measure and inspect finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Monitor the cutting process to ensure proper nesting, material usage, and cut quality.
- Inspect finished parts for defects, burrs, or inconsistencies and make adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and minor troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production status, material needs, or equipment issues.
- Accurately complete production logs and paperwork.
Qualifications of Plate Laser Operator
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and cut lists.
- Basic computer literacy for entering cutting programs and parameters.
- Strong measurement skills using precision inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Experience Job Title: Plate Laser Operator
- Previous experience operating plate laser or other CNC cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
