About the Role
BlueWorx Staffing is hiring an experienced Tool and Die Machinist for a well-established manufacturing partner in the Shawnee, OK area. This is a great opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for stable, first-shift hours and top-tier pay with a growing company.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to precise specifications
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) to fabricate and repair tooling components
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine tooling requirements
- Diagnose and troubleshoot die and tooling issues, making adjustments and repairs to minimize downtime
- Perform precision measurements and inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments
- Fit and assemble tooling components, ensuring proper alignment, clearance, and function
- Perform preventive maintenance on dies and tooling to extend service life
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, modifications, and tooling specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support new tooling projects and continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on tool and die making experience
- Strong knowledge of die construction, tooling design principles, and metal stamping processes
- Proficiency operating manual and/or CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM)
- Ability to read and work from complex blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and availability for 1st shift hours
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent; tool and die apprenticeship or technical certification a plus
