Shift: 2nd Shift – Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM or 3rd Shift

Professional Summary of Material Handler
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our 2nd Shift or 3rd shift team. The Material Handler plays an important role in keeping materials organized, accurate, and moving efficiently throughout the operation. This position supports production by staging materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities of Material Handler
- Label, store, organize, and handle materials safely and efficiently, including sheet metal components.
- Stage materials for production to ensure work continues without unnecessary delays.
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counting and inventory control activities.
- Use hand-held scanners and inventory systems to track materials and transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse and work area.
- Follow established quality, safety, and material-handling procedures.
- Assist with moving, lifting, pulling, pushing, and positioning materials and parts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with production and warehouse team members.
- Help ensure materials are available when and where they are needed.
- Support other warehouse and production-related duties as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications of Material Handler
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, material handling, or inventory control preferred.
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Experience using inventory systems, ERP/WMS systems, and hand-held scanners preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to use lifting devices and material-handling equipment when available.
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, climb, push, pull, and move materials throughout the workday.
Physical Requirements
This position is physically active, with approximately 95% of the normal work shift requiring standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while supporting production, inspecting materials and equipment, and following established procedures.
The position requires moving materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used whenever possible. Employees may be required to lift, pull, push, and hold materials in place, including in areas where material-handling equipment may be limited due to confined spaces or limited access around machinery.
Safety-Sensitive Designation
This position is considered safety-sensitive because it involves tasks and duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee or others. Safety-sensitive responsibilities may include:
- Handling, packaging, processing, storing, disposing of, or transporting hazardous materials.
- Operating vehicles, equipment, machinery, power tools, or other material-handling equipment.
- Following all required safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Experience Material Handler:
- 1+ year of experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, inventory control, or a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP or WMS systems.
- Experience with cycle counting and hand-held scanners.
- Experience handling sheet metal or other manufacturing components.
- Forklift or material-handling equipment experience is a plus.
