Responsibilities of Maintenance Mechanic
- Ensure machinery operation by completing maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems.
- Interpret technical data by reading, analyzing, and reviewing service manuals, technical procedures, and work orders.
- Utilize specialized tools including a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain safety standards by strictly following required work-safe practices, including lock-out/tag-out requirements and wearing all required PPE in safety-sensitive designated areas.
Qualifications of Maintenance Mechanic
- High school diploma or equivalent; OR 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret specifications and other standard schematics.
- Material identification skills to quickly and accurately recognize different materials.
- Physical capability to regularly lift 25–50 pounds.
- Regulatory certification to successfully pass a Hazmat exam.
- Core professional competencies including high integrity, self-motivation, strong teamwork, and demonstrated prioritization and time-management skills.
