Professional Summary of Document Control Specialist
Blueworx Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support a precision manufacturing client in Claremore, OK. This position is responsible for managing company, customer, engineering, quality, and compliance documentation while maintaining accurate revision control, document approvals, secure access, and document retention. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced with document management, technical documentation, and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities of Document Control Specialist
- Maintain document-control systems, registers, revision histories, and approval workflows.
- Manage document numbering, version control, release status, and approval processes.
- Process SOP revisions, engineering changes, policy updates, and document releases.
- Maintain drawings, specifications, work instructions, forms, routers, BOMs, and quality records.
- Distribute current document revisions and archive obsolete documentation.
- Coordinate with department leaders to maintain accurate and up-to-date policies and procedures.
- Manage customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Administer secure file-sharing platforms, including SharePoint, OneDrive, PreVeil, and customer portals.
- Maintain controlled access and permissions for internal and external users.
- Support AS9100D, ISO 9001, CMMC, ITAR, EAR, SOX, and customer compliance requirements.
- Assist with internal, customer, registrar, cybersecurity, and regulatory audits.
- Track document revisions, approval status, retention requirements, and compliance metrics.
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of documentation processes.
Qualifications of Document Control Specialist
- High school diploma or equivalent required; education in quality, engineering, business, or compliance is preferred.
- Experience in document control, quality administration, engineering administration, records management, or compliance support preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Advanced Adobe Acrobat and PDF editing skills preferred.
- Experience with ERP and document-management systems and revision-control processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy.
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, revisions, audits, and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow compliance requirements.
- Ability to move throughout an active manufacturing facility and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must follow required PPE requirements when entering production areas.
Preferred Experience Document Control Specialist:
Document control, quality systems, engineering documentation, records management, manufacturing, aerospace/defense, ISO 9001, AS9100D, CMMC, ITAR/EAR, ERP systems, SharePoint, and technical documentation experience preferred.
