BlueWorx is seeking an experienced Wireline Operations Supervisor to lead field operations supporting oil and gas well services in Casper, WY. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising wireline crews, coordinating field activities, maintaining equipment readiness, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in wireline or oilfield operations, proven leadership ability, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Wireline Operations Supervisor will oversee day-to-day field and shop activities while providing leadership to Wireline Operators, Helpers, and other field personnel. This individual will coordinate personnel and equipment for scheduled jobs, ensure crews are properly trained and prepared, and serve as a key point of communication between field personnel, management, and customers.

This is a working leadership role. The Supervisor must be comfortable being in the field, assisting crews when necessary, troubleshooting operational issues, and making sound decisions in a fast-paced oilfield environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide daily direction to wireline field crews
  • Coordinate personnel, trucks, tools, and equipment for scheduled wellsite operations
  • Lead pre-job planning and ensure crews understand job requirements and safety expectations
  • Oversee rig-up, wireline operations, and rig-down activities
  • Ensure logging trucks, crane trucks, wireline units, and associated equipment remain job-ready
  • Monitor equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair needs
  • Coordinate shop activities and equipment preparation between field assignments
  • Ensure proper maintenance of wireline tools and downhole instruments
  • Troubleshoot operational and mechanical issues in the field
  • Verify equipment is properly secured and prepared for transportation
  • Review operational, maintenance, safety, and transportation documentation
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of field personnel
  • Coach employees on safe operating procedures and job performance
  • Help establish crew schedules and field assignments
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and wellsite personnel
  • Address field issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain customer satisfaction

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture across field and shop operations
  • Ensure crews follow company and customer safety procedures
  • Maintain compliance with applicable DOT, ATF, NRC, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Ensure regulated materials used during wireline operations are handled and transported according to established procedures
  • Oversee required vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Conduct or participate in safety meetings, job safety analyses, and training
  • Identify potential hazards and take corrective action before work proceeds
  • Ensure employees maintain required licenses, qualifications, and training for assigned duties

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of oilfield, wireline, or closely related field operations experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory, crew lead, or field leadership experience required
  • Strong understanding of wireline field operations and wellsite procedures
  • Experience leading field crews in a safety-sensitive environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with wireline units, logging trucks, crane trucks, or similar oilfield equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of rig-up/rig-down procedures
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment inspection requirements
  • Ability to coordinate multiple crews, jobs, and equipment priorities
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, field personnel, and management
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Class A CDL preferred
  • Must meet applicable regulatory eligibility requirements for assigned wireline activities

Preferred Experience

  • Supervising wireline crews and field service operations
  • Oil and gas wellsite operations
  • Class A CDL commercial vehicle operations
  • Crane, forklift, or heavy-equipment operations
  • Wireline tools and downhole equipment
  • Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Rigging and lifting operations
  • DOT-regulated transportation
  • Working in environments involving regulated or hazardous materials

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in both field and shop environments
  • Ability to travel to customer wellsites
  • Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel as required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials
  • Willingness to work extended or irregular hours based on field operations
  • Ability to respond to operational issues as needed

Compensation

Base Salary: $80,000–$110,000/year, based on experience

Additional Compensation: Bonus opportunity
