BlueWorx is seeking an experienced Engineer II – HVAC Product Development to support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of residential and commercial HVAC products.
This position will play a key role in new product development (NPD) as well as improvements to existing product platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with hands-on HVAC system design, testing, simulation, and product development experience.
Position Overview
The Engineer II will be responsible for developing and improving HVAC products designed to meet demanding performance and reliability targets. This position manages engineering projects throughout the complete product development cycle while also providing technical support to manufacturing and other business functions.
The role requires a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, HVAC system integration, testing, and engineering analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to New Product Development (NPD) projects and sustaining engineering initiatives
- Manage individual engineering projects and special requests throughout the product development lifecycle
- Design, optimize, test, and qualify residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Use advanced analytical and experimental techniques to evaluate product performance
- Lead product qualification and agency compliance testing
- Conduct engineering studies using simulation and analytical tools
- Perform engineering calculations and provide technical justification for design decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, technical services, sales, marketing, and supply chain teams
- Interface with suppliers, customers, field personnel, and outside testing organizations
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation
- Prepare Bills of Material (BOMs), drawings, product changes, and special customer requests
- Interface with regulatory and testing agencies
- Support existing products by investigating manufacturing or field-related issues

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- HVAC system design or thermal sciences emphasis preferred
- 5+ years of engineering design and project experience preferred
- HVAC or refrigeration product-development experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing engineering projects through the product development lifecycle
- Experience with engineering simulation and analytical tools
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, test stands, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of industry standards and agency compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to communicate engineering concepts to both technical and business audiences
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity with computer programming languages
