BlueWorx is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee first-shift manufacturing operations in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for leading production employees, maintaining safety and quality standards, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring production goals are consistently met.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing leadership, high-volume production, Lean manufacturing, employee development, and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for supervising up to 120 production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Production Supervisor will manage daily manufacturing operations while ensuring production teams meet established safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
This individual will be responsible for workforce planning, employee performance, production efficiency, troubleshooting, and process improvements. The Supervisor will work closely with management, Human Resources, maintenance, and other departments to maintain smooth production operations.
Directly supervise and manage up to 120 manufacturing employees
Plan, organize, and direct daily first-shift production activities
Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and operational goals are achieved
Monitor staffing levels, production requirements, and equipment availability
Assign daily work responsibilities and establish production priorities
Maintain a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
Identify and resolve production delays, equipment problems, and workflow issues
Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime
Ensure proper identification, handling, and storage of materials and finished products
Maintain visual management controls throughout production areas
Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training production employees
Coach, develop, and evaluate employee performance
Address performance issues and coordinate disciplinary actions with Human Resources
Manage employee attendance and approve timekeeping records
Review and approve employee time-off requests
Ensure employees receive appropriate training and cross-training
Maintain accurate employee training records
Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment
Communicate production expectations and performance goals to employees
Implement Lean manufacturing principles to improve production efficiency
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and optimize workflow
Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
Lead and participate in problem-solving initiatives
Monitor production performance and identify areas for improvement
Support initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving quality, and increasing output
Utilize production metrics and operational data to support decision-making
Ensure employees follow all established safety policies and procedures
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment
Monitor equipment and processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements
Support compliance with TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards
Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate corrective action
Ensure employees receive required safety training
Maintain proper housekeeping and safe equipment operating practices
Report and follow up on production, equipment, and quality concerns
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing or production
Experience supervising employees in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
Experience managing production schedules, staffing, and operational priorities
Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead large teams
Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety and quality practices
Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret production data, performance metrics, and operational reports
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Experience using ERP systems and employee timekeeping software
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Experience supervising large manufacturing teams of 50–120 employees
Experience in automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing
Familiarity with TS16949 and ISO 14001
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
Experience with production performance metrics and KPI tracking
Experience leading cross-functional problem-solving teams
Additional leadership training, technical education, or related college coursework
Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility
Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds
Comfortable working around production machinery and moving mechanical equipment
Exposure to moderate industrial noise, fumes, and airborne particles
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Flexibility to support overtime or additional production needs when required
