Qualifications of Brake Press Operator
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating press brake equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to properly use precision measuring instruments.
Above-average math skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
Basic knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and bending characteristics.
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

Preferred Experience Brake Press Operator:

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machine tools to produce precision parts that meet engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint-reading skills, hands-on machining experience, and an eye for tight tolerances.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to fabricate precision metal parts.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine specifications, tooling, and machining sequences.
Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and materials for each job.
Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
Perform basic maintenance on machines and tooling to ensure proper working condition.
Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, adjusting processes as needed to maintain quality.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop safety standards.
Document work performed, including inspection results and any nonconformances.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience operating manual lathes and mills in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
Working knowledge of metal properties, cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple jobs.
High school diploma or equivalent; machining certification or trade school training a plus (not required).
